Young housewife never really had a complete idea in her head of what she wanted their room to be. Everything else in the house was settled in her mind before she even had a ring. Since the rest of her house is in neutral colors, what else could the bedroom be. Thus Working man and Young Housewife don’t have a theme for their bedroom but is “neutral country“. Obviously the couples love for antiques is evidenced by the furniture in this room.
A Few items on Working Man's dresser are PBR - the most amazing cologne Young Housewife found in Wyoming and gave to Working man as part of his Wedding present. The Tie is Working Man’s souvenir from NC. It was from the Scottish Tartan Museum and it was his Grandmothers clan, McMillan. And the belt was purchased by Working Man while he was seeing Young Housewife (before she was Young Housewife) . She thought it was the sweetest thing that he would wear a belt with her initial. And people though he wasn’t the romantic type.
And Young Housewife’s dresser was a gift from Gina, who hear of her need of a dresser before she moved out. On her dresser are other treasures. Her bouquet from the wedding, which also was dried. The small box was a Christmas gift from Young Housewife’s sister, on the outside are pictures and verses, such as Winnie the Pooh, a little boy cowboy, Mexico, Job 13:8, Cracker Barrel and other things. There is a mason jar that contains leftover flower petals that the flower girl threw at the wedding. Which also were a gift from the Groom when they were seeing each other, Young Housewife dried them and kept them to use at the wedding.
The lamp stand on Young Housewife’s side of the bed is also the table used to hold the couple’s cake.
Working Man’s Dresser is actually being borrowed from Young housewife’s parents and the cubbyholes over the dresser are an old typeset drawer from a printing office. Right now it’s being used to show off little treasures of Young Housewife and Working Man.
Some of the treasures include: The Metal JEEP Logo that Young Housewife’s sister saved off the front end of her Jeep after she hit the deer. The two small brown blocks are made of clay that was flung at the young couple as they watched the sprint car races. The Flowers are Working Man’s boutonnière from the wedding, that Young Housewife dried. The Starbucks cap is from the first Mocha flavored Frappichino Young Housewife tried. The Rocks were brought back from the honeymoon and Indian Steps State Park. The Soda tab is from a Java Monster the couple drank on their honeymoon (another first for Young Housewife.)
The Bed frame was something Young Housewife had since she was a little girl. The Lady who lived next door to them was going to move away and Young Housewife’s parents took two bed frames. It has traveled across the US 4 times and been borrowed for a time. But now it being used by the owner. At one time if had a vanity with a large mirror but that was broken amidst moves. The Bear on the bed is from The Pastor’s wife, a reminder that love “bears” all thing.
This completes this weeks peek at the couple's house. Only two more rooms to go!
