This made the girl very angry. She made her heart grow hard towards him. And yet, the whole time the girl’s mother prayer that her daughter’s heart would change.
The girl want on with her life, still trying to follow Jehovah’s will. She traveled to other countries to tell children of Jehovah’s love.
The young man still persisted subtly, showing here and there that he cared. He sent her flowers and helped her with the needs he saw.
And one day when the young man was leaving to go on a journey, he asked her a simple question, “Will you miss me while I am gone?” And instead of growing angry, as she was inclined to do, she found that she was puzzled, and his question would not leave her mind.
He returned, and things became normal once again, or so she thought. She found that her heart may have softened some.
The girl began to watch him more closely and she began to like what she saw. He was kind and gently, and as an added bonus, he was also seeking Jehovah’s will. So she began to pray about him, as he had been doing about her since they first met.
She got an opportunity to go to a far country to serve other ambassadors for Jehovah. And while she was there, Jehovah chanced her heart towards the young man.
She was afraid of only one thing: was it too late? Maybe he had forgotten her and moved on.
But he hadn’t forgotten her, how could he? She was the one he would grow old with, of this he was certain.
Still, the girl was worried that she had lost this chance at happiness. But finally he asked her if he might come calling. She said yes.
And the rest of the story is still unfolding.
The End (For now!)
