The End of My Story - Part 1

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all! We girls went out and took some pictures today because we all matched. I though I would post some of them here. So I know everyone is awaiting the end of my jeep story. Here is what is going on.
Monday morning my parents came down and we left right after my last class to go to the police station. After arriving at the police station we got the papers to go the impound lot where my Jeep was being stored. At the auto body shop that was holding my car my Dad went in to talk to them. We were afraid of large fees because of them storing it since November. We were not expecting to be charged $20 a day resulting in $2700! We didn’t even pay that when we bought the Jeep. So we called the insurance company in the parking lot and they said that legally we should only have to pay storage fees from the day we were contacted. That was Friday. The auto body shop claimed that they didn’t’ have to, but this point I still have not seen my car. They said for me to even get any of my stuff out we would have to pay the $80 towing fee. So we went back to the police station and talked to one of the officers who was a great help. He said he was afraid this would happen.
Here is what occurred. The officer and his wife live out of town, and the one night they looked out and saw her interior light in her car was on. When they went out they found someone had been rummaging in her car and after talking to the neighbors the learned it was a gold Jeep. So the officer started running the license plate of ever gold Jeep he saw and mine came up less than a mile from the church in a housing development in a rough part of town. He had the auto body tow the car and he contacted the State police, whom I filed the case through. The state police wrote it down as car recovered and owners contacted. We were never contacted. The Elkton police sent us a registered letter the end of January after finding our address on yellow pages. The mailman wouldn’t deliver the registered letter at our physical address so the letter was sent back. The officer got a report from the auto shop listing the cars they had impounded and mine was still in there for 4 months and they were wondering what was going on. The police man looked up my parents number and called them in Friday even thought it wasn’t the Elkton police departments job anymore.
We returned to the police station, the officer called the Auto body shop and negotiated to get the Jeep for $700. Dad refused because it still wasn’t worth that and there is no justice in the fact that my car was stolen and I have to pay to get it back. The body shop then said that I could get my stuff out of it without paying the towing fee if my parents signed over the title.
