For Such a Time As This

“…who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14

Background
Haman just decreed the destruction of all the Jews- the Queen Esther’s secret people. She was chosen queen, by the king for her beauty but by God for a purpose. She didn’t know that thought. Now there was a problem, she herself was a Jew but no one in the palace knew and now her people were in danger.
Cousin Mordecai, who raised her (see 2:5-7), now got word to Esther that maybe this was why God allowed her to become the King’s wife…”for such a time as this.” No one else Jewish could do anything about it but she had access to the throne, though it was life threatening (4:15). This was her time to be used of God. She was created and concerned for such a time as this.

Application
We, as believers, live in the same scenario, our “for such a time as this” is right no. Our situation might now be as drastic as Queen Esther’s but God has placed you where you are because this is how God wants to use you. Just like Esther you were:

I. Created For Such a Time as This
God has equipped you to fulfill the purpose He has for you right now.
Teenager- God has you right where you are to be right now in time- you are to use your time being a teenager who is serious about the things of God and sharpening your skills to serve Him.
Teacher - God has given you the classroom of students you need right now, probably because they need you. You might be the only one who can reach them and shape their minds for eternity.
Trainer (Parents) - Guess what? God gave you those children because you were made for the job. Don’t give up! You were made their parents for such a time as this- to be used of God to raise the next generation for Him.
Time Clock Puncher (Workers) - You were placed in that job “for such a time as this” - God has you there for some reason. He needs you there because no one else is there to do his work.
The Tidying-uper (Housewives) - God has created you for this work, are you doing your best at it? In the world we live in, your “for such a time as this” is now. Don’t make housework out to be a drudgery, it’s a high calling. It also includes the people who live in and enter your home. Do it all for His glory.

II. Be Concerned about Your For Such a Time as This
God created you for it, now be concerned about how your doing in it. Hone in and sharpen your skills as you may better be used of God.

No one else may know why we are where we are ( we may now either) but God created you specifically:
“…for such a time as this.”
